This extensive restoration of the State Capitol complex was implemented in multiple phases as funds were appropriated over a fourteen-year period.

The restoration included interior marble replacement, scagliola restoration, murals, stencils, light fixtures, floors, carpeting, woodwork, furnishings and exterior stone work.
